How a Local Hardware Store
Beat Big Box Competitors Online
An 80-year-old hardware store with a stellar local reputation was losing online sales to big box retailers. Customers were bouncing from their website in 25 seconds—treating it like a product catalog instead of a place to get expert advice. Their decades of hometown hardware knowledge wasn’t translating to digital.
The site needed to feel like walking into the store and talking to someone who actually knows the difference between deck screws and drywall screws. We redesigned the navigation and product experience to prioritize practical advice over endless SKU lists. Every category became an opportunity to demonstrate expertise, not just display inventory.

The Kalispel Tribe of Indians needed more than a website redesign—they needed a technology partner. Their web presence had grown into a patchwork of disconnected sites spanning tribal government, enterprises, and community services. Managing it was becoming a burden, and it wasn’t reflecting the scale and sophistication of what the Tribe had built.
We built one cohesive theme across all nine sites, migrated their entire infrastructure to Azure, and introduced Craft CMS as the platform to manage it all. The technical lift was significant—first Craft CMS deployment, first Azure app service environment, containerized deployment connected to Azure block storage. But the bigger outcome was what came after: we became the Tribe’s go-to web partner for everything outside their CMS. When something needs solving, they call us.

The Williams Group helps wealthy families answer one of the hardest questions in estate planning: how do you pass on wealth without losing the relationships? They’d built a sterling reputation serving over 1,200 families across the U.S. and Canada—but their brand wasn’t communicating the sophistication and care that defined their work. The old logo wasn’t doing them justice. They knew it. Their clients knew it.
We developed a brand identity built around a W monogram with a gold leaf—drawing on architectural symbolism for wealth and status, combined with the meaning of growth and renewal that sits at the heart of their work. The high contrast of thick strokes and thin connectors reflects the delicacy of generational wealth. We built a new website to match, including a custom falling leaf animation and full e-commerce integration. It wasn’t a frictionless process—this is a client with high standards, and we respected that. We stuck with it until the work was right.
